CAC's receive state funding through IL DCFS, but not mandated by legislation. The total fund amount is distributed based on the $$ amount available when a new center opens up (~$50,000), which consequently gives some centers more $$ than others. Legislation does allow each CAC to pass a property tax referendum in the amount of .004%.

$1 million was put in the Governor’s budget and awarded to the CACs in Kansas. Executive committee and new Chapter Director, Amy Boydston, worked with the Governor’s Office Grant Coordinator to help develop the grant criteria and formula for distributing the funds. Money will be allocated in to CACs via grant applications, and awarded dependent on the following breakdown: 40% base amount dependent upon NCA membership level, 35% on child population in counties served and 25% on number of forensic interviews conducted in previous year. The Chapter will help the Governor’s Office monitor the grant criteria, which is significantly based on the NCA Standards.

Department of Social Services funds appropriated to Child Advocacy Centers in Missouri are divided among the Centers using a two part formula: A = The Number of Counties served by a Center B = The number of children under age 17 in the counties served by a Center. - One half of all appropriated funds are allocated based on the number of counties a Center serves. - One half of all funds are allocated based on the number of children less than 17 years of age in a county served by a Center. These two amounts are then added and that is the total each center receives. Formula: Amount allotted per County (A) + amount allotted per child population (B) = Total funding In fiscal year 2006, 108 of the 115 counties in the state were being served by a designated regional child advocacy center. Six counties were not designated for service by a specific CAC. For Fiscal Year 2006 there was $1,841,977 available funding for CAC’s.The following is an example of what would apply: 50% of total funds allocated to 108 counties served by child advocacy centers = $920,988.50 50% of total funds allocated to child population of counties served by each center = $920,988.50
$920,988.50 = $8,527.67 per county 108 counties served
$920,988.50 = $.65 per child 1,413,152 child population
