The Pine Tree Apple Tennis Classic (PTATC) is an annual mixed doubles charity tennis tournament played to benefit the cancer research program of Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. The PTATC is a not-for-profit event and all net proceeds directly support the research program.
The Pine Tree Apple Tennis Classic’s mission is to support research to lessen the suffering of children with cancer. Our primary goal is to raise funds for pediatric cancer research. In 22 years, the tennis classic has raised over 3.3 million dollars for the cancer research program at Children’s.
The research team collaborates with physicians, laboratories, and medical professionals around the country to conduct research studies and report their findings. These reports, published in major medical journals, enable other physicians to better understand specific childhood cancers and learn more about the most effective types of treatment. Such research efforts ensure that children around the globe can be offered state-of-the-art therapy, thus improving their chances for survival.
