Mona LaPlant
Pediatric rheumatologist

Mona LaPlant, MD, pediatric rheumatologist, comes to Children’s of Minnesota from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where she was a faculty member and staff physician in the department of pediatrics.

She received her medical degree from Michigan State University in 1995. She completed her pediatrics residency, served as chief resident, and received her fellowship training in rheumatology at the University of Michigan.

She is board-certified in rheumatology and pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics. She is a past recipient of the Physician Scientist Development Award from the Arthritis Foundation for her research work on medical treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus.

She is an ad hoc reviewer of manuscripts for multiple rheumatology journals including the Pediatric Rheumatology On-Line Journal and Arthritis Care and Research.
