Services

  • Evaluate and treat children with diagnoses, including:
    – cleft palate
    – autism/PDD
    – Down syndrome
    – chromosomal abnormalities
    – traumatic brain injury, stoke, brain tumor
    – developmental delays
    – speech delays
    – complex medical histories affecting development
    – degenerative medical conditions affecting speech, communications, and feeding/swallowing
    – hearing impairments
    – tracheostomy and ventilator dependency
    – voice disorders
  • Evaluate and treat children who may have difficulties with:
    – speech: articulation, intelligibility, fluency, aphonia, vocal fold paralysis/nodules
    – language: following directions, understanding conversation, answering questions, using grammatical structures
    – cognitive-linguistic skills: problem solving, memory orientation, information processing
    – feeding and swallowing: aspiration, oral-motor weakness, oral aversion, choking, chewing problems, advancing to age-appropriate diets, poor oral intake
  • Nasendoscopy in conjunction with ENT.
  • Videofluoroscopy in conjunction with radiology.
  • Speaking valve trials in conjunction with respiratory therapy.
  • Interdisciplinary clinics including cleft palate and craniofacial clinic, developmental pediatrics, integrated clinic, feeding clinic, Down syndrome clinic.
  • Augmentative and alternative communication evaluations.
