Application Requirements
Please read the following information carefully.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota.
All volunteers must complete our 3-step process: application, interview, and orientation. Our minimum age for volunteers is 14 years of age. We ask for a minimum of 6 months commitment or one semester of school. The volunteer is to complete the application and submit it to our office. We will then contact you to acknowledge your completed application and to set up a time for a personal interview. It is at the interview where we will discuss specific volunteer opportunities, schedules, orientation dates, and complete a background check form.
Getting Started:
Step 1: Application
Apply online. Before you start your online application, please note that you must have your immunization records and immunity status for tuberculosis. Please call your health care provider to schedule a Mantoux test if you have not had one within the past 12 months.
Step 2: Interview
Once your volunteer application has been received in our office, we will review your availability and preferred service areas. We will contact you to set up a personal interview if your availability matches our needs. Applicants will be contacted either by the email address that was submitted on the application or by phone.
Step 3: Orientation
Orientation is 2 and ½ hours long. All volunteers must attend a general orientation. Orientations are held in Minneapolis and St Paul. At your personal interview you will be provided with orientation registration, dates, and times.
Thank you for thinking of Children’s. We look forward to having you on our volunteer team. Please call us at (612) 813-6200 (Children’s – Minneapolis) or (651) 220-6141 (Children’s – St. Paul) if you have any additional questions.
