New emergency department now open at Children’s - Minneapolis
The Children’s - Minneapolis Emergency Department (ED) opened in its new location
Oct. 28. The new Emergency Department entrance is at the intersection of East 25th Street and Elliot Avenue, one block east of Chicago Avenue. There is a short term parking lot for families outside the new ED. Some features of the new ED include:
- separate and enclosed ambulance entrance
- state-of-the art decontamination area
- high-tech trauma rooms
- safe rooms for at-risk patients
- expanded capacity to 26 patient rooms
- large, inviting waiting room
