Internet-ready laptops line a wonderfully sun filled window. A Kodak printer sits at the end for free photo prints. A docking station to the left of the register is filled with adapters to charge a wide range of phones, PDAs and iPods. Free for patients, families and staff.

Jeff Weness, director of corporate development at Children’s, explains the hard work that people across Children’s and Best Buy put in to make this first-of-its-kind precinct a reality for patients and families at Children’s.

Alan L. Goldbloom, president and CEO of Children’s, explains how vital the precinct will be in helping Children’s deliver it’s core mission of family-centered care, doing everything possible to keep families connected and have a stress free experience.

Ryan Robinson of Best Buy, and a Children’s board member, explains how many Best Buy employees have been tremendously helped in their lives by Children’s of Minnesota, and this new partnership not only reflects the next phase of Best Buy’s relationship with Children’s, but truly reflects the passion among Best Buy employees to give back in some small way to Children’s.

Matt Dyson, Geek Squad Deputy Field Marshall, and his Geek Squad Agents couldn't wait to get started. Agents are committed to eliminating what they call “techno stress” for patients and families at Children’s - Minneapolis.

Staffing the new precinct was a highly coveted role among Geek Squad Agents, and these three agents were selected among the talented pool for their tech savvy, top notch service, and commitment to the community.

The oversized scissors aren’t just for show. They actually work.

As of the 10 a.m. the precinct was open and ready for business.
