Rachel’s life with Aicardi syndrome

Rachel’s Life with Aicardi Syndrome from Children’s Minnesota on Vimeo.

Rachel was diagnosed with Aicardi syndrome, a rare genetic malformation syndrome where part of the brain fails to form. Aicardi syndrome causes developmental delay, intellectual disability and frequent epileptic seizures.

Rachel’s quality of life has improved since neurosurgeons at Children’s implanted a vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) device to reduce seizures.
