Minnesota girl celebrates final round of PPB chemo

Lainee Balsimo has received treatment at Children’s Minnesota for pleuropulmonary blastoma (PPB), a rare form of lung cancer found in 30-50 kids in the U.S. each year.

On Wednesday, the 5-year-old girl underwent her final round of chemotherapy, and KSTP-TV was there to share her story [WATCH].

In 1987, Children’s established the Pleuropulmonary Blastoma Registry to collect and analyze diagnosis and treatment data on any child diagnosed with PPB. The PPB Registry has confirmed more than 475 cases and serves as a resource on the diagnosis and treatment for medical providers around the world.
