New research presents parents with social media best practices

Research presented at the 2016 American Academy of Pediatrics National Conference and Exhibition cautioned parents on over-sharing about their kids on social media. Researchers outlined best-practice guidelines to educate parents, teachers, pediatricians, policy makers and the media based on the best interest of children. Dr. Gigi Chawla, senior medical director for the primary care division at Children’s Minnesota, provided her perspective on the topic, noting the importance of setting boundaries for parents when it comes to social media.
