Meet Sarah and Kyle Stark. Sarah and Kyle were introduced five years ago by Kyle’s mother, and from that moment on the rest was history. In 2015, the couple was thrilled to find out that they were expecting their first baby. Sarah and Kyle were elated at the news and began planning for the arrival of their unborn child. At their 20-week ultrasound, Sarah and Kyle arrived at their doctor, anxiously awaiting the revelation of their baby’s sex. What the doctors discovered would be a surprise they had not initially anticipated. There on the sonogram doctors were alerted of an abnormality forming on their unborn son’s diaphragm. Sarah and Kyle were immediately referred to a team who specialize in the treatment of congenital conditions at the Midwest Fetal Care Center.
The Midwest Fetal Care Center, a collaboration between Children’s Minnesota and Allina Health, is the first and largest advanced fetal care program in the Upper Midwest providing expanded access to prenatal care. The Midwest Fetal Care Center specializes in the diagnosis of, treatment and follow-up care for women with high-risk pregnancies.
