New Opportunities for Teens in the Diabetes Clinic

In October, the McNeely Diabetes Center will open a Teen Diabetes Clinic. The clinic will be held at the Woodbury location on Tuesdays. We are excited about the new team model that we will be piloting in efforts to improve the care we provide to our teenage patients. Clinic appointments are available for any child with diabetes who is 12 years of age or older. Please considering attending the new Teen Prep Academy Course (detailed below) at which we will provide some additional details about the Teen Clinic. Watch for more details about the clinic in the Fall 2017 Diabetes Care Connection Newsletter as well!

Teen Prep Academy

We are excited to announce a new course for our families. Teen Prep Academy is now being offered to all children 12 years of age and older and their families to help prepare our teenagers and parents for changes and challenges in diabetes management during adolescence. Classes will be offered routinely at several different times during the year. Over the summer, classes are available on Monday July 24 at 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Woodbury and Thursday, August 31 at 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Saint Paul. Parents or a family member must attend with their child. The course is free for our families. Please contact the clinic for more information and to reserve a spot. We look forward to seeing you!
