Business of Pride awards honor Dr. Angela Goepferd

Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal (MSPBJ) announced its first ever Business of Pride awards this year. The awards honored individuals for “their business successes and advocacy for LGBTQ issues and equality.” There were 24 honorees, including our very own Dr. Angela Goepferd, director of medical education! Recognized for her training of physicians, nurses, social workers, psychologists, school nurses and other health care professionals on LGBTQ youth health issues, including mental wellness, as well serving as a policy expert for the Legislature on issues of children’s health and medical education, Dr. Goepferd is incredibly deserving of this award. Among her many board member contributions, she served as a member of the LGBT Standards of Care advisory board through the Rainbow Health Initiative, working to develop universal care standards for all LGBTQ people in Minnesota. According to MSPBJ, “Goepferd is a dedicated caregiver for the LGBTQ community, and her leadership has paved the way for LGBTQ youth to have equal access to essential health care.” Congratulations to Dr. Goepferd!
