Joe Kurland talks flu vaccine with Wired

The CDC reported that the number of people who got influenza vaccinations last year was unusually low. Joseph Kurland, vaccine specialist, spoke to Wired about people’s perceptions of the flu vaccine. He explained that when people have the perception that getting the vaccination will guarantee they will not get the flu but they fall sick anyway, the flu shot seems like a failure, which may deter them from getting vaccinated in the future.
