Dr. Mark Hudson speaks on the importance of teaching kids to use anatomical terms

Dr. Mark Hudson, medical director of the Midwest Children’s Resource Center, spoke with KARE-TV about the importance of teaching children to use anatomical terms for body parts. Dr. Hudson states that using different names for body parts can send kids the message that they cannot talk about their bodies and that they’re shameful. Additionally, he stated that that using anatomical terms at a young age can help prepare children to communicate clearly about something that happened to them.
