Dr. Sheldon Berkowitz honored with Trust Builder Award

Children’s Minnesota is proud to announce that Dr. Sheldon Berkowitz, MD, recently received the TrustHCS Trust Builder Award for his work with Children’s Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) program. The Trust Builder Awards highlight those who have succeeded in building trust among their health care peers. Specifically, the awards aim to feature those in the health information management, clinical documentation improvement and revenue integrity fields who are building trust successfully among multiple groups within their organizations.

Dr. Berkowitz is a seasoned pediatrician with more than 30 years of experience, of which 18 have been dedicated to Children’s Minnesota. Among peers, Dr. Berkowitz is well-revered for his role as medical director for case management, utilization management and CDI for the Minneapolis hospital. Dr. Berkowitz’s leadership has led the CDI program to success, building its reputation as a national leader as demonstrated by metrics. Annual external audits of the program have also consistently recognized the program’s achievements.

As part of the honor, $2500 will be awarded to a charity of Dr. Berkowitz’s choice and he will also be recognized at an awards dinner by TrustHCS. Congratulations Sheldon for this remarkable recognition!
