Children’s Minnesota nurse receives volunteer service award

Congratulations to Children’s Minnesota RN Lora Stege Koppel, who recently received the first Dr. Jim Sidman Service Award from Children’s Surgery International (CSI) – a nonprofit that organizes international volunteer trips for health care professionals with the purpose of sharing medical knowledge with local practitioners. Koppel is a nurse at Children’s Minnesota Minnetonka Surgery and Specialty Clinic.

The award recognizes her outstanding record of volunteer service, and is in memory of Dr. Jim Sidman. Dr. Sidman was a surgical trip volunteer and helped build the team of craniofacial surgeons and medical professionals that CSI depends on for teaching missions. Dr. Sidman was one of Koppel’s mentors when she first began volunteering with CSI more than 20 years ago.

Congratulations Lora for your remarkable contributions!
