Children’s Minnesota held its first internal career fair this month. The event provided employees with the opportunity to learn more about the organization, different departments and roles. Whether employees were interested in moving to a new role or department soon or later in the future, they could get tips on interviewing and résumé writing.
Departments represented at the career fair included clinical areas like radiology, laboratory services, pharmacy, ambulatory, respiratory therapy, advanced pediatric providers and nursing; services such as social work, interpreter services and child and family services; Health Information Management; and the Children’s Health Network contact center. If employees were interested in advancing their careers in a department that was not represented, talent acquisition consultants were available to talk about other areas of the organization.
This event was also a great time for employees to network with leaders from across the organization. Employee resource group leaders, department leaders and even members of the management executive committee were in attendance.
The internal career fair was just one way that Children’s hopes to help employees succeed in their careers.
