Star Gala sponsors stay committed to helping Children’s Minnesota

It is with deep regret that Children’s Minnesota leaders have decided to cancel the 2020 Star Gala. Amidst growing concerns about COVID-19 (coronavirus), the health of our sponsors, their guests and our greater community is of utmost importance to us, and we want to do our part to keep everyone safe.

For nearly 30 years, the community has been joining together on this special night of support for Children’s Minnesota. This year was poised to be a record-breaker with a focus on the neonatology program, which provides the highest level of care for the smallest and most fragile babies born each year.

Star Gala sponsors stay dedicated

Thank you to our generous sponsors who are continuing to support Children’s Minnesota Star Gala, even as we informed them of the cancellation of the event. As our largest fundraising event of the year, they truly understand the impact this could have on our patients, families and the organization.

“As board member of both the operating and foundation boards I had unique visibility as to the stress COVID-19 would place on our pediatric system and the foundation,” said Charlie Maxwell, partner, chairman and CEO of Meristem Family Wealth, and Children’s Minnesota Foundation board chair. “My fellow shareholders immediately agreed that our sponsorship would be critical to the fight and directed our support to urgent needs.”

Many sponsors are redirecting their support to our most urgent needs, providing direct relief to our patients and families. We are so thankful for their commitment at a time when we need it most.
