Joining the MSPBJ Forum: DEI Update

Jobs are abundant. Workers are scarce. The labor market hasn’t been this tight since World War II. Attracting and keeping professionals of color is critical, but what are the best ways to do that?

James Burroughs, senior vice president, government and community relations, chief equity and inclusion officer at Children’s Minnesota, will talk about best practices and share what he’s learned during a panel discussion at an upcoming “DEI Update” forum sponsored by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.

“This forum is an exciting opportunity to share how organizations like Children’s Minnesota are dedicated to serving our community. An important part of that is connecting with and attracting professionals from all communities during an extremely tight labor market,” said Burroughs. “I’m excited to share how Children’s Minnesota is working to become a national leader in recruiting and retaining professionals from Black, Asian, Native American, Latino and other ethnic communities to serve the Twin Cities’ diverse patient population.”

James will join three other panelists: Colette Campbell, chief talent acquisition and diversity officer at Bremer Financial Corporation; Ieesha McKinzie Collins, managing director of ConnextMSP, Greater MSP Partnership; and Courtney Schroeder, director, diversity, equity and inclusion at General Mills.

The forum will be in-person on Thursday, July 21. Visit MSPBJ Forum: DEI Update to learn more.
