What is Salon and Spa Night?

At Children’s Minnesota, we understand how hard and stressful it can be to have a child in the hospital. Not to mention, outside of the care our patients receive, the support from their families also play an important role in patient morale and recovery. That is where Salon and Spa Night comes in.

Salon and Spa Night is a quarterly evening event at our St. Paul hospital for parents or guardians to step away from the bedside to have a short break and receive some much-needed personal care. It is an event that hopefully makes our patient families feel cared for so that they can best support their child during this difficult time. At Salon and Spa Night, services such as haircuts, styling and chair massages are made available for free for parents or guardians who have a child staying at the hospital. Come April 2023, we are hoping to be able to start offering nail services such as manicures.

How can patient families partake in this event?

Days before the event, parents or guardians of our in-patient children will receive a personal invite from our staff. Parents or guardians will then be able to schedule services they would most be interested in or enjoy.

A special thank you to our donor and partners

Thank you to our donor, Chuck and Marni Bond, for making Salon and Spa Night possible for our patient families. Their donation and continuous work of the Child Life Zone has been crucial for the creation of this event. Last but not least, thank you to our partners at Great Clips and St. Paul College for providing all the services.
