Personal Biography

Gretchen Moen is the current Clinical Director, past Executive Director, and founder of Dakota Child and Family Clinic, a not-for profit primary care and behavioral health clinic in Burnsville MN. Gretchen is a Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with special interests in primary care management of Asthma, Pediatric and Adolescent behavioral health, Autism spectrum disorder, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, trauma and attachment. Her original research focused on overuse injury in pediatric athletes. Her doctoral research focused on privacy and security for small practices. Gretchen received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, her Masters in Pediatric Nurse Practitioner studies from the University of Minnesota and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the College of St. Scholastica. She is a professor at St. Catherine University as well as a guest lecturer for the University of Minnesota Graduate Nursing program and the Metropolitan State University Nurse practitioner program. Dr. Moen is a clincal preceptor for Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant students. In addition to her work, Gretchen was a member of the Camp Superkids medical board for 25 years and directed the camp for kids with asthma for 10 years. She is actively involved in the community and frequently asked to speak to groups regarding primary care management of complex health conditions, professional NP issues, and advocating for children's healthcare. Dr. Moen is a certifying provider with the Minnesota Medical Cannabis program and has presented to professional organizations on her experiences with medical cannabis as a treatment option for qualifying pediatric disorders.
