Personal Biography
Michael Troy, PhD, has been a clinical psychologist at Children's Minnesota since 1988. Currently, he is Medical Director of Behavioral Health Services and Associate Medical Director of Children’s Neuroscience Institute. He is Children’s MN Site Director for the Pediatric Innovation Initiative, coordinated through the Harvard Center for the Developing Child, a national translational research and practice initiative studying the assessment and amelioration of toxic stress in primary care. Michael received his undergraduate degree from Lawrence University, and his PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Minnesota. He completed his internship and fellowship at Hennepin County Medical. His clinical and academic interests include diagnostic classification issues in developmental psychopathology, models of therapeutic assessment, risk and resilience in in early childhood development, psychological assessment of adolescents at risk for major psychopathology, and teaching child clinical psychology as part of hospital and community medical education programs. He is co-author of the books, Disorders of Childhood: Development and Psychopathology (3ed) and Child Development: A Practitioner’s Guide (4ed, in press).
