Personal Biography

Joy began her career at Children's in 2000. As Senior Director of Child and Family Services, she is responsible for the leadership and direction of psychosocial, developmental, and interpreter/cultural support for patients and families. She also oversees the following departments: Child Life, Spiritual Care, Interpreter Services, Social Work and general family support services, which include the Family Resource Center, Operator Services and Volunteer Services. Joy holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin (Madison) and a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis). She has served on the Boards of Spare Key Foundation and The Society for Social Work Leadership in Health Care (SSWLHC), and is currently serving on the Board of Ronald McDonald House and as a member of the State Subcommittee on Children's Mental Health. At Children's, Joy serves on committees involving patient and family-centered care, arts and healing, equity and inclusion, the Joint Commission, and has also been a leader in forming strategic national partnerships (most recently one between Children's and Teammates for Kids Foundation).
