Personal Biography

Hossein Aliabadi, MD is a Pediatric Urologist on the medical staff of Childrens Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, University of Minnesota-Fairview system hospitals, North Memorial Hospital and Methodist Hospital. He Attended the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, and completed his residency in Urological Surgery at the University of Minnesota. He received special Training in Pediatric Urology and renal transplantation, at the hospital for sick children in Toronto, Canada, and is the only pediatric urologist on staff with formal training in pediatric renal transplantation. He then joined the faculty of the Department of Urological Surgery at the University of Minnesota, and currently holds clinical associate professor in the department. Practicing with Pediatric Urology Associates with multiple sites/offices in the metro area, Dr. Aliabadi provides full range of services for infants and children especially with complex urological anomalies. He has published a number of peer-reviewed articles, including in the New England Journal of Medicine, and has made presentations in national and international meetings. He is a member in many national and international professional organizations, and was cited in Consumers Guide to Americas top Urologists. Dr Aliabadi's areas of interest include prenatally diagnosed fetal anomalies, complex congenital urinary tract and genital abnormalities, and reconstruction involving the genitourinary tract. Consistently in publications including Minnesota Monthly and MPLS, St. Paul Magazine, as one of the best physicians as chosen by their peers, he is on the Board of a nonprofit board promoting health and education to underprivileged teenagers, and a regular contributor to multiple other philanthropic organizations.
