Personal Biography
Although born in California, I spent much of my adolescence in Australia. I graduated from the University of Western Australia with a degree in Biochemistry and Microbiology. After returning to the United States, I worked in a pharmaceutical research lab developing vaccines and products for those with bleeding disorders. I attended medical school at McGill University in Montreal and pediatric residency at the University of Miami's Jackson Memorial Hospital. My clinical work, initially in Georgia and then in Maine, included some general pediatrics but mostly diverse specialty care for children with HIV, profound neurologic and developmental challenges, and cystic fibrosis. Concurrently, I cherished raising my two adopted children from Korea and China and our beloved Australian Shepherd. In 2017 I began a fellowship in pediatric hospice and palliative care at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. I am very excited to be joining a wonderful interdisciplinary team focused on maximizing quality of life for children with life-limiting serious illness and their families.
