Karen Wills is board-certified in clinical neuropsychology (ABPP) and practices as a pediatric neuropsychologist at Children's of Minnesota. She completed the B.A. in Spanish and psychology at Wellesley College; doctorate (Ph.D.) in psychology at University of Iowa; internship and neuropsychology residency at Boston Children's Hospital. She worked in Chicago as a staff neuropsychologist at Children's Memorial Hospital and later as assistant professor of Psychology at Loyola University. In 1998, she moved to Minnesota, first to Mayo Clinic (Rochester) and then to Children's (Minneapolis). Her specialty is evaluating "thinking, feeling, and behavior" in children whose medical conditions may affect brain development (e.g., cancer, sickle cell disease, epilepsy, head injury, lead poisoning, hydrocephalus, cardiac disease, stroke, or chromosomal differences). Her goal is to identify a child's needs and create an integrated "roadmap" for medical, educational, and emotional-behavioral interventions. She does not provide psychotherapy. She is semi-fluent in Spanish and ASL. She is active in research, professional affairs, writing, and clinical teaching in neuropsychology.
