Personal Biography

Ashley N Junghans-Rutelonis, PhD, LP, is a pediatric psychologist in the Department of Pain Medicine, and Integrative Medicine. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from DePaul University in Chicago, IL and M.S. and Ph.D. in Pediatric Psychology from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She completed her clinical internship at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN and two-year postdoctoral fellowship in medical psychology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, where she was also an assistant professor of psychology in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. Dr. Junghans-Rutelonis is a proud member of the interdisciplinary pain clinic team at Children's where she provides outpatient therapy services to address pain management and additional mental health concerns. She utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and integrative medicine approaches to support returning to functioning, normalizing life, and improving pain management. Dr. Junghans-Rutelonis is the pain clinical lead for the Sickle Cell Wellness Clinic, a joint venture between the Department of Pain, Palliative Care, and Integrative Medicine and the Department of Hematology and Oncology. She is thrilled to work with this fantastic team to focus on a patient-centered, wellness approach to caring for kids with Sickle Cell Disease.
