Personal Biography

Dr. Brown is an Integrative, Pain, Palliative physician and clinical medical ethicist and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota. She is the program director of Integrative Medicine at Children's Minnesota. Dr. Brown was an electrical engineer and basic science researcher, critical care physician and Medical Director of the Pain, Palliative Care and Integrative Medicine at the University of Chicago. She has served as associate program director for pediatric residency at the University of Chicago, and as a chair of the medical school admissions committee and director of Healer’s Art at the Pritzker School of Medicine. Dr. Brown attended Mayo Medical School in Minnesota and residency in Pediatrics at Northwestern University in Chicago. She completed fellowship training in Pediatric Critical Care, Clinical Medical Ethics and Medical Education at the at the University of Chicago and Integrative Medicine at the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine. She received her Acupuncture training from the Helms Institute and Hypnosis through the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and the National Pediatric Hypnosis Training Institute.
