Celebrating a century of care: help paint a Children’s Minnesota mural

You’re invited! Make your mark on Children’s Minnesota history by joining our centennial sidewalk mural event on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024! We’re excited for our community to bring their creativity and fun as we celebrate our past, present and future!

Children’s Minnesota is hosting this event in honor of our 100th anniversary. We started out our centennial year with a celebration at our St. Paul hospital as Gov. Tim Walz proclaimed Feb. 13, 2024, as “Children’s Minnesota Day,” and now we want finish the year strong with this celebration in Minneapolis!

What is the mural event?

The mural will be designed and led by professional muralist, Tara Aiken, in partnership with our Children’s Minnesota Youth Advisory Council. Tara will create the outline of the mural, but it will take our community to paint and bring the masterpiece to life!

We will have the Fry Bread Factory food truck at this event, as well as music and lawn games!

Who is invited to join?

Anyone can join in including patient families, staff, volunteers, community members and friends. Come be part of this fun and interactive event.

No sign up is required to participate — just show up and don’t forget to wear your painting clothes!

Celebrating a century of care: Children’s Minnesota turns 100

Children’s Minnesota has been here for 100 years. And it’s all because of you: the people who bring their kids here, the ones who work here, the partners who refer their young patients for specialty treatment, the donors who support us, and the community who rallies around the families in our hospitals. Join us in celebrating a century of care — and a bright, healthy future for Minnesota kids.
