Walk for Amazing changed from a one-day walk at U.S. Bank Stadium to a virtual event in order to keep families safe while social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Children’s Minnesota was named the winner of a Bronze Stevie Award in the Communications or Public Relations Campaign of the Year—Healthcare category in the 18th Annual American Business awards. The honor was given for the public relations campaign to launch the Children’s Minnesota Gender Health program.

Dr. Gigi Chawla, chief of general pediatrics at Children’s Minnesota, has been named medical director of Reach Out and Read Minnesota. The program partners with medical clinics to improve early literacy and education outcomes by providing a free, age-appropriate book at every well-child visit from six months to 5 years old.

Children’s Minnesota has seen a decrease in patients seeking care at our facilities due to COVID-19. This decrease has been especially prominent in medical-surgical units as the result of postponed elective surgeries.

Amid the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, Children’s Minnesota and its patients have joined the “A World of Hearts” movement to inspire hope.
