Twin Cities Smoosh Racing Championship

Northstar Running is excited to present the 2018 Twin Cities Smoosh Championship. For the second year in a row, we are thrilled to partner with Bauhaus Brew Labs as the official race host and refreshment center before, during, and after the smoosh races. New this year, Northstar Running has also partnered with Children’s Minnesota to make this a charitable event. All race entries will be donated to Children’s. Who doesn’t want to smoosh race for a good cause!!!

2018 Education in Palliative and End-of-Life Care (EPEC) – Pediatrics

April 12, 2018 8 a.m. – April 13, 2018 5 p.m., Minneapolis

The EPEC-Pediatrics curriculum features state-of-the-art knowledge in pain and symptom management, as well as training in the skills required to address key domains for pediatric palliative care. The curriculum is designed to give pediatric healthcare providers, and especially pediatric oncology specialists, the knowledge and skills needed to provide excellent palliative care to their patients and their families. Based on the well-established and proven training methods of EPEC, this curriculum features a high impact, widely disseminated approach that utilizes a train-the-trainer model.  With knowledge gained through the EPEC-Pediatrics curriculum, physicians, APRNs, RNs, social workers, and psychologists will be equipped to become trainers who will educate local interdisciplinary teams that provide care to children with cancer and hematological conditions, thus optimizing pediatric palliative care outreach within the pediatric hematology/oncology context. Click here for more information and to register.

2018 EPEC – Pediatrics: The Professional Development Workshop

The Professional Development Workshop (PDW) is a 1-day hands-on small-group workshop intended to familiarize participants with the theory & practice of adult learning and clinical practice improvement in teaching pediatric pain and palliative care. This is a required course for Trainers who wish to become a Master Facilitator and opens the possibility to join the EPEC-Pediatrics faculty upon completion.
