Laparoscopy

Say: la-puh-ros-kuh-pee

Laparoscopy sounds a little scary at first, but it's actually pretty cool. It's a special kind of surgery that uses a camera to look inside your body! What happens during laparoscopy? First, doctors make a tiny cut on your abdomen while you're under anesthesia. Then they place a really thin tube inside you with a teeny camera attached to it. They use the camera to look for what's making you sick, and when they find it, they fix it. Using this kind of surgery, doctors can fix things more easily, you can heal faster, and you get only a tiny cut that will heal in no time.
