This conference will review current best practices for patient /family education. Learners will be asked to complete the VARK learning assessment pre-conference to identify their own learning styles, in order to fully participate in discussions and scenarios woven throughout the day.  Speakers will explore patient /family education considerations and techniques using case studies, video vignettes, and interactive discussions. The Somali Resource group will address religious and cultural considerations to improve success in working with Somali families and we will end the day looking at future trends in planning patient/family education for the next generation.
