Education in Palliative and End-of-Life Care (EPEC) – Pediatrics

The EPEC-Pediatrics curriculum features state-of-the-art knowledge in pain and symptom management, as well as training in the skills required to address key domains for pediatric palliative care. The curriculum is designed to give pediatric health care providers the knowledge and skills needed to provide excellent palliative care to their patients and their families. Based on the well-established and proven training methods of EPEC, this curriculum features a high impact, widely disseminated approach that utilizes a train-the-trainer model with both distance learning and face-to-face segments of the curriculum.

Included in registration:
Attendance at the face-to-face conference, including a networking reception with beverages and appetizers on Saturday evening, and continental breakfast and lunch on Sunday. There will be coffee, tea, and snacks throughout both days.

Access to 20 self-study online modules on pain and symptom management, grief and bereavement, family centered care, child development and more. (Full list of modules can be viewed at www.epec.net) Access to modules is ongoing. We request that the online modules be completed prior to attending the face-to-face conference on March 12-13, 2016. We will grant access to the online platform once registration is complete and paid for. Please allow up to a week after registration to be granted access to the modules. The focus of the face-to-face conference is on teaching the materials/knowledge learned through completion of the online modules.
Receipt of all training materials in the curriculum upon successful completion of the course, i.e. conference attendance and online module completion.

Due to the interactive nature of this course, space is limited. We recommend interested individuals complete registration early to secure their spot. Registration closes when class is full. Cancellations must be made 30 days prior to the first day of the conference (February 12th, 2016) in order to receive a refund minus a 10% administration fee. Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to the first day of the conference will not be granted a refund.
