Trauma Speaker Series: The ABCs of Pediatric Trauma

Children’s Trauma Speakers Series: The ABC’s of Pediatric Trauma is designed to strengthen the trauma assessment skills of front line care giver’s ability to recognize signs of life threatening injuries and facilitate early intervention for positive outcomes of the pediatric patient. Through use of case scenario discussions the learner will engage in early identification of injury and anticipation of needed treatments and ongoing care from stabilization through recovery. A series of six presentations reviews the components of the primary assessment and application within a team setting.

Target audience: RNs, EMS and other healthcare providers who care for the pediatric trauma patient

Course outcomes:

  1. Use case reviews to highlight the importance of ongoing assessment of the injured child to identify injuries and promote recovery
  2. Review assessment
