Pathology results will be released to MyChildren’s Portal 96 hours after final resulting in Cerner. This will allow clinical teams the opportunity to discuss the results with the patient/family prior to their release to the portal.
Note: Autopsy results will not be automatically released to MyChildren’s Portal.
This change supports our ongoing obligation under the CURES Act as it pertains to the electronic release of EMR documentation to the patient/guardian.
Pathology Confidential Documentation
To prevent inadvertent disclosure of confidential information, confidential pathology results will be communicated in the following way:
- Results will be communicated directly by phone to the ordering provider
- Pathologists will create a Pathology Confidential document which:
- Will be sent via Message Center to the ordering provider
- Will be saved to the chart
- Will not be released to MyChildren’s Portal
Note: To ensure that previous pathology documents that may have contained confidential information are not released, pathology documents created before 6/14 will not be included.
