ABO Incompatible Heart Transplant data is viewable in the Patient Information section of Clinical Highlights.
The following changes have been made:
- Transplant Status: New field options include Listed-ABO Incompatible – Heart and Transplanted-ABO Incompatible-Heart
- Transplant Blood Type: New field to display Cardiac Donor Blood type (either unknown, or the cardiac donor type)
- This field is a link to the specific transfusion grid for patients receiving blood products. All patients either listed for an ABO Incompatible (ABOi) transplant and those who have received an ABO Incompatible (ABOi) transplant must only receive blood products as directed in the grid linked to Transplant Blood Type
The ABO Incompatible Transplant Warning will display when ordering Plasma/Platelet/Cryoprecipitate products for patients when the Cardiac Donor Blood Type displays as unknown or a specific type. The alerts will also fire when the products are Activated.
