The upcoming Cerner Oncology project go-live includes a requirement that will affect all prescribers.
When altering a dose selected in an order sentence, the Adjust Reason may be required depending on which field you are using to make changes to the medication dose. If entering the new dose from the Dose Adjustment field in the Dosage Calculator, a reason will be required.
To access the Dosage Calculator, click the icon shown below.
Target dose: Use the Target dose field to enter an adjustment. The Adjust Reason is not required.
Dose Adjustment: Use the Dose Adjustment field to enter an adjustment. The Adjust Reason is required. The adjust reason can be selected from the drop-down or entered in the free-text field provided.
Alternatively, the strength dose can be adjusted from the Order details tab. The adjust reason is not required.
