Cerner Standard Banner Bar Rollout: New Release Date 12/19/23

The Cerner Standard Banner Bar is being redesigned to provide pertinent information, identify the correct patient, view critical information and expedite patient care.
Phase 1: Providers began using the Cerner Standard Banner Bar in November 2020.
Phase 2: The majority of ambulatory and multidisciplinary staff will begin using the Cerner Standard Banner Bar December 19, 2023.
Note: A roll-out date for all other remaining roles (i.e. inpatient RNs, case management, ED, surgery RNs, and surgery support staff, etc.) is to be determined.

The majority of changes are aesthetic. Pertinent information is still present but may be in a slightly different location.

Some of the highlighted changes include:

  • Allergies: A list of allergies will now display. Click to add, modify, or remove allergies.
  • Admission/Discharge date and time: Now displays admission and discharge date and time directly in the Cerner Standard Banner Bar
  • Hover: Hover over banner bar sections to display more detailed information.
    For example, hover on Weight or Dosing Weight to view last documented date and time.
    Note: Dosing weight will no longer drop off after 90 days.
  • Ellipses (…): The ellipses indicate more information is available. Hover to see additional information.
  • Name, MRN, Date of Birth, and Age: Click to view additional demographic information.
  • Acct: Click to display additional encounter details (i.e. location and bed number, date, status) or select a different encounter from the list.
