Ambulatory Referral Management (ARM) Update

It was recently decided not to implement the Referral Management technology and the go-live scheduled for April 30th was cancelled.

Referral Management (ARM) was meant to be the first phase of a three phased technology implementation intended to make it easy for providers to refer to Children’s Minnesota and improve the speed of processing those referrals. Phases two and three were stopped due to the Epic transition. Without these subsequent phases, it was determined that ARM will not meet our stated goals.

The escalations, feedback and insights brought forward throughout this project were also key considerations while making this decision. Thank you for sharing your expertise with us which enabled us to make the best decision for our patients, referring providers, and staff.

Although we are not moving forward with this technology implementation, we remain committed to our goal: to delight our referring providers and patients through enhanced referral management and to make it easier for them to choose and access Children’s Minnesota. Continuous improvement of our referral management process remains a high priority and we will be continue to investigate new tactics to achieve this goal.
