Outreach department

Children’s Minnesota’s outreach team serves as an essential link between Children’s and other healthcare professionals in the region. Our role is to develop and maintain positive relationships with metro and regional physicians, nurses, first responders, hospital and clinic leaders and other healthcare professionals.

Outreach Team Services

  • Assist groups with educational needs assessment and fulfill speaking needs for clinical audiences through the Children’s speakers bureau (presentations include lunch-and-learn events, case reviews and hands-on nursing skill development)
  • Personally visit physicians, nursing leaders, hospitals and clinics to provide recent news from Children’s, referral information and navigation assistance
  • Manage Ask a Specialist, our online consultation services
  • Arrange personal visits with Children’s specialists and administrative leaders
  • Coordinate tours of Children’s locations for health professionals
  • Share existing resources including policies, care guidelines, clinical tools and family education materials for your patients
  • Facilitate nurse-shadowing opportunities, where a nurse can spend a shift observing patient care at Children’s
  • Provide neonatal and pediatric customized training and certification courses
