Community Connect helps families find critical resources and thrive

At Children’s Minnesota, we know that good health requires more than good health care. In fact, 80% of a child’s health is tied to where they live, learn and play. That’s why we have the Community Connect program. The program helps connect families in our Minneapolis and St. Paul Primary Care Clinics to existing community resources.

Children’s Minnesota fundraiser supports kids fighting cancer and blood disorders

Children’s Minnesota is partnering with more than 30 local businesses during September for the Shine Bright for Cancer Kids campaign, the health care system’s annual fundraiser for its cancer and blood disorders program.

The Northern Express

The Northern Express is an immersive holiday experience that brings cheer to the whole family. Feel like you’ve escaped to the North Pole and explore Santa’s workshop, kitchen and more, meet reindeer, Christmas llamas and Clydesdales, take pictures with Santa, and get lost in the forest. Eat, drink, shop and be merry! The market will have exceptional local makers, decadent treats and warming beverages from neighborhood purveyors. There will be a collection for new, unused toys for Children’s Minnesota throughout the multi-weekend event.

Great Clips cut-a-thon returns to support kids returning to school after serious illness

Great Clips salons in the Twin Cities area are joining together for the 28th annual Great Clips cut-a-thon from Saturday, Aug. 28 to Friday, Sept. 3. After being canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, participating Great Clips salons will once again donate a portion of proceeds from each haircut to the school re-entry program at Children’s Minnesota. The program helps address the medical and emotional needs of a child returning to school after battling cancer or other serious illnesses.

Hope for Mikayla and other kids living with sickle cell disease

Mikayla has been in the hospital more than 100 times. And she’s only 13. Born with sickle cell disease, a disease that primarily affects people of African descent, Mikayla endures severe pain, infections and even strokes.
