Youth sports across the United States are growing at a rapid pace. Grade school, junior high, and high school athletes are not only involved in community and school activities, but also competing within “elite” teams at younger and younger ages.

ACL tear

The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is one of the four ligaments that hold the knee joints together. An injury to the ACL is serious because this type of ligament has very little capacity for healing itself once it is torn.
