Be a flu fighter. Vaccinate for stronger kids

Flu season is almost here. What you may or may not know is that influenza, commonly known as the flu, is a serious respiratory illness. Symptoms can include fever, cough, sore throat, muscle aches, fatigue, congestion, a runny nose and, in extreme cases, death.

That’s why and Children’s Minnesota is calling all kids 6 months of age or older and their families to join us this year to become flu fighters and get vaccinated.

The flu vaccine is the best way to prevent the flu, and we know that anything less won’t do for the most amazing people on earth. The flu vaccine is 70 to 90 percent effective in preventing influenza. Due to ineffective results, infection prevention experts recommend no FluMist nasal spray this year – only flu shot. Fortunately, there are simple tactics that you can use to help reduce needle pain. Find a flu shot clinic near you.

At Children’s, we are dedicated to helping kids stay healthy and safe throughout flu season. Thanks to our long-standing partnership with Kohl’s Cares, we are able to provide area flu vaccine clinics, flu prevention resources and education to help your child fight the flu.
