Insulin Resistance

Say: in-suh-lin ree-zis-tents

Kids who are starting to get type 2 diabetes are still able to make insulin, but the insulin can't work the way it should. Even though the pancreas is still making insulin, the body doesn't let insulin do its job as well and it's harder for glucose to get into the cells. This is called insulin resistance. People who have insulin resistance may or may not develop type 2 diabetes.
