I Crave Unhealthy Food. What Can I Do?

How can I get myself to stop eating the foods with sugar and salt that I crave every day?
Sara*

Many people have trouble with sweets and salty food because they taste good — but you don't need us to tell you that!

Unfortunately, eating too much of these foods can negatively affect your health. It's OK to treat yourself once in a while, but only take a small portion and then put the bag away. If you feel like you can't control yourself when these types of foods are around, get rid of them! Make it easy on yourself and remove all temptation from the cupboards in your house and ask your parents to stop buying them.

A healthy alternative to foods with sugar is fresh fruit, which is naturally sweet and low in calories. When it comes to a salty alternative, try a couple of baked whole-wheat pretzels to satisfy your urge without the fat.
