James Hocks, MD, retires after nearly 40 years with Children’s Minnesota

Please join us in congratulating James Hocks, MD, who is retiring after 39 years of practice in pediatric primary care. During his storied career, Dr. Hocks has cared for many generations of children within the same family and has been a mainstay of pediatric healthcare in the West St. Paul community. His last day is Aug. 31, 2020.

Dr. Hocks began his career at the Potlach Pediatric Clinic in 1981, joining Albert Heimel, MD, in providing primary care services. Next, Dr. Hocks transitioned to working at the Pediatric and Adolescent Care Clinic (PACE Clinic). For the last 10 years, he has been at Children’s Minnesota Primary Care Clinic – West St. Paul.

Dr. Hocks has been a trusted provider for generations of families. He has been a key partner in meeting the healthcare needs of the clinic’s diverse patient population, which includes nearly 50 percent of patients who are Latinx.
