The Type of Therapy field defaults to Acute for all prescriptions, excluding those prescriptions in a PowerPlan. Manually adjust Type of Therapy field for Maintenance medications. This does not apply to the Emergency department or surgical areas.

Adjust Reason for Medication Dosage Change

When altering a dose selected in an order sentence, the Adjust Reason may be required depending on which field you are using to make changes to the medication dose. If entering the new dose from the Dose Adjustment field in the Dosage Calculator, a reason will be required.
