Cerner Standard Banner Bar Rollout: New Release Date 12/19/23

Children’s is rolling out the Cerner Standard Banner Bar to the majority of ambulatory and multi-disciplinary staff on December 13. Inpatient staff will continue using a custom banner bar.
Note: Providers have been using the Cerner Standard Banner Bar since November 2020.

Several IView changes are being implemented regarding Wound Ostomy consults, the Power Port field in a Dynamic Grouper, new chest tube documentation options, and new assumed pain reassessments documentation options.

Ambulatory Referral Management (ARM) Update

It was recently decided not to implement the Referral Management technology and the go-live scheduled for April 30th was cancelled. 
Referral Management (ARM) was meant to be the first phase of a three phased technology implementation intended to make it easy for providers to refer to Children’s Minnesota and improve the speed of processing those referrals. Phases two and three were stopped due to the Epic transition. Without these subsequent phases, it was determined that ARM will not meet our stated goals.

Provider Documentation Update

Children’s of MN adopts coding and documentation guidelines from the AMA. We do not typically follow CMS (Medicare based) rules because Children’s is not a Medicare-based facility.
